Columbus, OH, May 7, 2025 – Nationwide earned its first patent from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in 2000. Twenty-five years later, with 60 patents awarded and 26 pending, Nationwide recently held its second-annual Patent Awards ceremony, honoring 10 Nationwide associate inventors who earned patents on behalf of the company in 2024.
“The best ideas aren’t just people hanging out at Nationwide dreaming up solutions for people, but it is people at Nationwide talking to customers to figure out what pain points they do have,” says Daniel Pfaltzgraf, a senior consultant on the Nationwide User Experience team and one of the 10 honorees. “What are ways in which we can make their life better and easier?”
From processes that determine specific solutions for individual customers to collaborative systems that provide on-demand retirement solutions, Nationwide’s 2024 patents focused on protecting people, businesses and futures with extraordinary care.
