Columbus, OH, March 5, 2025The colder months can offer a range of less-than-ideal conditions when on the road. From icy streets that make for challenging driving conditions to cooler temperatures impacting tire pressure, a variety of factors could unexpectedly leave you stuck in the cold, which is why Nationwide’s Technology team works tirelessly to make sure our customers have the best possible experience. Although an inconvenience, getting your vehicle up and running again doesn’t have to be.

Through Nationwide’s live tow truck tracking, customers can use the mobile app to track their tow truck in real-time, get status updates like their driver’s estimated arrival time and see Google reviews, hours and contact details for nearby repair shops.

“We’re proud of our Technology team’s commitment to continuous improvement to better serve our customers,” said Misty Kuamoo, Nationwide Chief Technology Officer, Corporate Technology.  “Personally, it brings me comfort knowing that if something happens to one of my family members while they are on the road, we can track everything in real-time, providing invaluable peace of mind.”

Tow truck tracking is just one benefit offered through the mobile app. While most people aren’t visiting their insurance app like their social media feeds, several new enhancements are available to customers when a need arises.

App highlights include:

  • The ability to add proof of insurance to your Apple Wallet.

  • New self-service features for annuity members that seamlessly provide account details, transaction history and tax documents.

  • Capability for members to opt into push notifications which provide more personalized and timely communications.

  • Quick links in the navigation menu for improved user experience.

“We believe that the technology updates we continue to make are significantly enhancing the user experience,” said Kuamoo. “Our goal is to make managing your insurance as seamless as possible when you need it most.”

In recognition of these efforts, Keynova has ranked Nationwide #1 in the industry for claims experience and acknowledged its Valuables Plus experience in the Property Casualty Insurance Monitor.
